Pennsylvania is currently under a declared state of emergency related to the coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, many agencies, including the Souderton Area School District, are not able to meaningfully respond to Right-to-Know Law (RTKL) requests and appeals.  Therefore, the Office of Open Records has put a “stay” in place that essentially freezes all such matters until the situation changes.
That being said, although the District staff members are working remotely – and therefore do not have access to many of the records individuals may request – the District will process RTKL requests as it is able.  In that respect, the District is unable to provide any public records except those that it maintains electronically and can access remotely.  Where that is not the case, responses may indicate that the District cannot substantively respond during the closure, but will do so after the District fully re-opens.

If, with the above in mind, an individual wishes to submit a request, please only do so by e-mail during this period.  Thank you.

The District School Board recognizes the importance of making public records available for review and inspection by members of the public. Therefore, the public has the right to access and procure copies of those district records which are public records, with certain exceptions, subject to law, Board policy and administrative regulations. Local agencies, such as the district, are permitted and required to set policy governing that access.
