Resuming In-Person School on Monday, Dec. 7th

December 2, 2020

As we prepare to return to in-person instruction on Monday, December 7th, I want to thank our community for its commitment to supporting our school district. We are looking forward to the return of our in-person students next week when the two-week "virtual-only" directive of the Montgomery County Office of Public Health expires.

When we return to our schools on December 7th, we will resume our normal school schedules, and the Souderton Area Online Academy will continue to operate as usual.

I want to assure you that we are continuing to closely coordinate with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health on all matters related to the pandemic. We are focusing on following our health and safety plan in an effort to maintain in-person instruction for our students.

To date, contact tracing has shown no in-school transmission of COVID-19 for public schools in our county, thanks in large part to safety protocols and to compliance from students and staff. We will continue to communicate about cases in our District on our COVID-19 Dashboard. We have confidence that our schools will remain open, but parents should be ready with a backup plan for child care in the event that another school closing is imposed.

We are once again turning to our community to ask for support to keep our students safe and keep our schools in operation. We ask our students to say home when sick and ask our parents to notify the school if their child is showing symptoms or has been exposed outside of school. Please be reminded that all SASD families are required to follow the county’s school exclusion recommendations.

Thank you for your continued support of our District as we navigate this pandemic together.

With Appreciation,

Frank Gallagher
